Last week at speech therapy Zackary was working with Miss Anita on the "k" sound. She showed him a picture of a cat and he said "Daisy Mae" which is Auntie & Uncle Brian's cat. Then she showed him a cow and he said "cow - Madeline", which is the cow we visit at SBC in the summer. And he also started working on the "g" sound and she showed him a picture of a pig and he said "pig - pee u" because the pigs we also visit at the Petting Farm at SBC have a bit of a smell!! Luckily Pop-Pop was there to explain!

Sleep
Naptime has returned, so we're all thrilled and it makes for a much happier little guy!
I returned from the grocery store yesterday to find Zackary and Paul in Zackary's room. Zackary had woke up from his nap and asked Paul for a flashlight because he was trying to find Jesus. Here is the story. Zackary has been waking up at night lately (and at 5:30A on both Saturday and Sunday) but we haven't been able to figure out why. Over the weekend he finally said he was scared and heard noises. I tried to reassure him and told him Jesus was always with him. Well apparently in his mind this translated to Jesus talking to him during the night and waking him up! And let me tell you when this boy gets something his mind it takes a lot to change it! Finally before bed I suggested that during our prayers we ask Jesus to talk to him tomorrow so he could get some sleep, and this seemed to satisfy him. He slept all night and there was no mention this morning of Jesus talking to him. This will be added to the list of one of our more challenging parenting moments!!

Naptime & Smiles
This is the second day in a row that Zackary did not take a nap. Yesterday we assumed it was because he slept until 8 o'clock (which rarely happens). As a result he went to bed early last night and got up early, so of course we assumed a nap would happen today . . . it didn't! We're all praying he isn't getting close to giving up naps . . . he needs them and so do we!
Zackary received a Valentine's Day card with an Arch card for McDonald's. He was all smiles when he saw the picture of the fries!

What We've Been Up To!
Sara's blog is one of the blogs I love to read. Recently Sara wrote a post encouraging people to start blogging or blog more regularly. It inspired me, so I'm going to try it.
So let's start with where we've been for a month . . . . sick!! Zackary started with a fever about the second week of February. The virus triggered a terrible cough and ultimately involved getting the nebulizer out of the closet to help his breathing. Of course he passed it on to everyone he loves!! We're doing better now but February was a very long month!!

Here are a few recent pictures which I think are self explanatory.
Zackary is more independent than ever, I hear "not Mama help" a lot!
He is now 37 1/2 inches tall. He weighs around 36 lbs..
"This is me's and this is you's" is another favorite phrase, which makes me chuckle everytime.
That's all for now . . . hopefully it won't be a month until I post again!
