His Face

Zackary's face says it all on this picture, he LOVES his fire truck. This is the first toy that he has wanted carried from the first floor to the family room in the basement.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!
Yesterday we celebrated Christmas with the Crosby's. Zackary picked up a gift and we thought he was going to give it to someone . . . .
. . . but apparently he needed a place to sit!

He looked at me like "what is Uncle Brian doing?"!

Christmas morning and the three of us had a leisurely day at home!
We still have four gifts under our tree. Zackary was done so we decided to save them for another day!

My First Time on a Plane

Zackary loved the luggage cars.

Reading the magazine from the seat pocket!

Studying the emergency instructions.

He was a great traveler!

Winter - We're tired of it already!

Zackary went on his first trip on an airplane almost two weeks ago. Zackary and I flew to Mississippi to see Brian graduate with his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. We are so proud of his accomplishment. We also had the opportunity to enjoy a couple days of sunshine & warmer weather (high 50's & low 60's). Zackary was a great traveler and I'll post pictures from that trip another day!
If you live in Michigan, you know that the weather has been miserable this past week. If you don't live in Michigan, you can be glad. Before the deep freeze began, Paul took Zackary outside for a couple pictures. He was fascinated with Paul's hat (and who isn't) and his gloves. The pictures turned out great and he seemed to have fun doing it. I thought it was appropriate that he has his snowmen pajamas on too!

The Tomlin family came for a visit and we celebrated Christmas. We tried to get a picture of the three boys but unfortunately none of them turned out, so here are my favorite individual shots.

Brady with a sweet smile!

Cody patiently waiting to open his gift.

Zackary decided to dump everything out of the gift bag to save time!

He's doing really well feeding himself when the meal allows it.

Zack was bored with feeding himself and was allowing me to . . . and then I guess he needed a moment to concentrate on the catalog because he pushed my hand away!
We're looking forward to Christmas with Zackary and I'm sure I'll have a lot of pictures to share by the end of the week. Merry Christmas everyone!!

ZACK PLUS SANTA = HAPPINESS

This is Zackary's second visit with Santa Claus. He loves Santa...but doesn't necessarily like sitting on his lap. He definitely had a mind of his own; when he decided that he doesn't want to do something, that's all there is to it. Sometimes he acts this way on Daddy's lap as well, so he must really like Santa a lot!!! ....He's a Mama's boy through and through

Zackary has his Mama back and is as content as can be.

Zackary is with Daddy, but dreaming of Mama.....

December Already!

We had wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. We hosted Thanksgiving for my parents this year and everything turned out well. We spent most of the weekend at home, which allowed me time to decorate for Christmas. Zackary is doing really well with the Christmas tree. It was decorated very strategically so if he decided to play with the ornaments, it wouldn't be a problem. Of course he loves anything that looks like a ball (which there are a lot of balls on a Christmas tree) and each day takes a the same teddy bear ornament off -- I put it back on each night -- he takes it off the next day. I'm not sure why, but it's cute!

This is the face we get often now when we take pictures!

We opened the Nativity set I ordered for him, he seemed to like it!

I love this picture! He's so sweet!

The Plaid Hat

I desperately wanted him to wear this hat for his first birthday pictures in July (it matched his outfit) but he refused. Now he wears it around the house all the time . . .

For some reason Zackary pushes all the cushions up so he can sit on the sofa easier.

Why?

Why did Mommy put the CD player down there where I can't reach it ?

Yum Yum!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post, I seriously don't know where the time goes! Last weekend I went away to scrapbook. Paul had Zack the first part of the weekend and Grammy & Pop-Pop the second half. I arrived home on Sunday late afternoon with Zackary, I put him in the kitchen & shut the gate. Paul and I proceeded to unload the car. As I walked back into the kitchen, this is what I saw. . .

Zackary promptly went over to the table, reached up and took the donuts off the table and helped himself. Donuts aren't something we normally have in the house but I bought them as treat for Paul since I would be away. Paul came in and I said "did Zackary eat donuts?" -- he got this deer in headlights look and said "maybe one or two". Apparently they were something he enjoyed and he was determined to sneak in one more before Mommy caught him. So after the photo session, I put him in his high chair and let him finish it!

Happy Halloween!

It was easy to decide that Zackary should be a puppy for Halloween this year since he gets so excited whenever he sees a dog.

The first place we went was to Grammy & Pop-Pop's. He was fascinated by the children walking around in costume.

Don't you just want to hug him?!!

Helping Pop-Pop pass out potato chips! Then we went to church to Trunk or Treat. We had fun!

Thanks to Grammy -- we actually have pictures of Zackary with a pumpkin. I didn't get it carved until today, but that's just the way things have been going around here lately!. This is what he did when I asked him where pumpkin's nose was -- he understood where the eyes & mouth were but just couldn't get the nose.

He would just look at it and laugh!!

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. Zackary has been sick for two weeks but he is finally doing better. He had an upper respiratory viral infection that has been lingering. Then Paul got it a week ago, we we've been short on sleep & time lately. Things are looking up!

More Than One Purpose

It turns out the Zackary has found more than one purpose for Huggies -- the box works perfectly as a place to sit!

I realize now that apparently I forgot to comb his hair when I dressed him!

He could reach his musical toy on the refrigerator and clap along with the music.

Isn't he cute!

I wish I had a camera on the other side of the door, Grammy & Pop Pop were pulling in the driveway and I could hear him saying "Pop Pop"!

Fall Festival

Last weekend we attended the Fall Festival weekend at camp and enjoyed a beautiful weekend. On Saturday we had two campfires, enjoyed homemade cider and enjoyed watching Zackary explore. Paul spent a lot of time just following him around while he enjoyed a little freedom. He is constantly picking up sticks, dirt, leaves, etc. and giving them to us. Another highlight for Zackary was going on a tractor ride with Pop Pop. He was SO excited! He's fascinated by construction trucks, noisy trucks of any kind, the garbage truck, etc..

He has awhile until his feet can reach the pedals but he's ready to steer.

Chillin' in Daddy's chair!

Personality

Zackary seems to need to multi-task all the time. He's been this way for most of his life. He got to a point when he was about 6 months old that he couldn't just lay there and take a bottle -- he would need something (or many things) to play with and entertain him. This transitioned to his high chair when he started eating table food. I know this is breaking some kind of "good parenting" rules but it was necessary to ensure that the child received the proper nutrition. Tonight for example, he decided he would hold his bottle and I could read a book. Normally I still hold his bottle, even though he knows how, and I'm not looking forward to giving up "ba" even though I know it needs to happen soon. He's such a busy boy and I look forward to our "quiet" time each night before bed.

One of his favorite meal time activities is looking through magazines. He especially enjoys the ones that include toys and he points out all the balls!

Doesn't he look serious?!

This is Zackary not doing what Mommy would like him to. I was trying to get him to sit on the end of the couch and take his picture . . . . since he is now 15 months old . . . he had other ideas!

Cute . . . but not what I was aiming for!

He was done . . . and ready for dinner!!

Greenfield Village

Today we went to Greenfield Village for a couple hours and this was the first visit for Zackary. We had a fun time! He loved the horses pulling the carriages. Another highlight for him was the old cars driving by and he would make the "vroom" car sound.
I purposely didn't crop this picture because Zackary is looking at the chickens, he was fasinated by them walking around and wasn't scared.

Isn't this funny . . . he had to squat down to see between the slats . . . these were the sheep.

Zackary petting the sheep - they feel pretty neat!

Mommy & Zackary went on the 75 year old (I think) carousel. He did great but I think he liked the music the best!

Singin' In The Rain . . .

Last Sunday Grandma Joyce took Zackary outside to walk around in the rain. He convinced her to go to the backyard and get his bottle of bubbles too!
